Galdhøpiggen, Norway’s highest mountain, is perfect for a day trip, with Sognefjellshytta as a starting point. Galdhøpiggen (2,469 m above sea level) is the highest mountain in mainland Norway, Scandinavia and northern Europe. The mountain is situated in Jotunheimen in the Lom Municipality of the Oppland County.

Sognefjellshytta makes an ideal base for a trek up the Galdhøpiggen. An overnight stay at the Sognefjellshytta before the trek to the summit will ensure you are in the best of shape for making your way to the top of Norway’s highest mountain!
